Baby Care
How to care for your new baby- helpful guide for new mothers...
We have all read the famous pregnancy guide "What to Expect when you are Expecting"
I read that book cover to cover, hoping to absorb all the know-how about being pregnant.
You are so hyped up about your pregnancy, that you never really comprehend the huge undertaking when bringing your baby home for the first time. In the media, you are bombarded with "things to buy" instead of "things to know", and trust me, the first night of caring for your new baby is a rude awakening.
Yes, we have all heard of the horror stories of the 1st trimester (ha!) of your new baby's demands. The constant feeding and changing of diapers is a never-ending chore. Most couples have yet to catch up on their sleep, but little chores like cleaning and cooking are necessary evils that need to be done in your zombie-like state. Of course, many mums are fortunate enough to have the "best-natured babies in the world" and slept and ate like little princes and princesses.
In most cases, new mums are flustered, frustrated and mostly tired! So here we have compiled a list of "things to do" to help you prepare for your new baby coming home.
1. Ask for Help! Yes, you may feel that you have everything under control, but asking for some help is not a personal weakness - we need to have the courage to admit that its our first time being a new mum, and that any type of help would be much appreciated. Whether its your own mother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law or neighbour - every little help is a boon in your time of need!
